oh my gosh! i'm so in love with this movie. i really like how the movie was done. i think it is very inspiring in some ways. i love how they made use of the beatles songs which really fits into the different scenes in the movie. the movie has a musical theme to it because the main characters are singing. amazingly, they all have really good voices. they sang the songs really well. i want to watch this movie over and over again. by the way, i learned of this movie through bianca gonzalez's blog entry. i really enjoyed watching this movie. it is really beautiful. i'm so in love with jim sturgess who played the role of jude in the movie. i hope you could watch it too..

grand return demo part 1

i just got home today because i'm finished with the part o1 of my ret dem. our scheduled ret dem was 4:30 pm so i arrived at school at about 2pm. i felt weird when i walked into our school because it felt like forever when we had our regular class. anyways, when i got to school, i saw my groupmates so i joined them as to where they were seated. there, we chatted with each other. i was really nervous.

when it was already 4:30pm, we went upstairs to gdlsc nal3 so that we would be able to know if it is our turn yet. we always look as to who is coming out of the door. then, finally, our turn came. they allowed us to get inside for our turn. we were all nervous. i performed hygienic measures and therapeutic positions. i did okay but i'm not satisfied with the grades i received. i got mental block during the actual ret dem. i forgot all the things i have reviewed..damn! anyways, at least i'm finished with the first part. next will be the physical assessment.

bum out days

for the past few days, i had been stuck in home doing nothing but read manual of nursing procedures volume 1. i have been waiting for the day for us to have our grand return demo scheduled. up until now, some of the batch in our section haven't finished with the ret dem yet. sunday is considered family day and of course, i didn't do anything productive at home. monday, no classes because of the edsa 1 revolution anniversary. people gathered around mendiola to have the rally. tuesday, we only attended a 1-hour class which is micro-para lec. all the afternoon subjects got cancelled because the general education subjects had their general meeting. no religion classes for almost three meetings now. its not that we don't like religion.
wednesday, we still doesn't have a schedule for our grand ret dem because there are a lot of back logs in the other sections for team b. the tendency of the ret dem being always cancelled is that you no longer want to study. i've watched several movies these past few days because i really don't know what to do at home. i also surf the net for just about random things. can't wait to watch across the universe.
anyways, that's all. i don't really feel like blogging today. godbless...

american idol 7 favorites

this year, american idol return for its seventh season. the top 24 has already been chosen and now, the guys and girls are performing for a spot on the top 12. america will vote on who would they like to see on the top 12.

as for me, i have my personal favorites from this season. before the show begins, ryan seacrest always says that season 7 has the greatest talent the show has ever had. well, i kinda agree but of course, from the previous seasons, there had been few great talents on the show. okay, as for my favorites, i have 5. two from the girls and three from the boys.

This guy is amazing. I really like him despite the fact that he's gay. He has a very good singing voice. I don't understand why other people dislike him because he's gay. Memorable performance for me is during hollywood week when he sang "When I Need You" by Leo Sayer.

I love this girl; very nice voice indeed. She has such a powerful voice and i like it. Her most memorable performance for me is when she performed "Alone" by Heart during hollywood week.

Another Filipina who make it through to hollywood week. I'm proud of her since she is a fellow Filipino. She has a very good voice for someone like her. I think she's going to do great on the show. She was great during her audition when she sang "Natural Woman" by Aretha Franklin.

last february 18, 2008, i went down to buy a test tube and masking tape for our group. i didn't want the company of my groupmates so i decided to go alone. i was in a good mood that day but i really don't like mondays because we have micro-para lab. after i bought the test tube and masking tape, i went back because our class is still on going. then, when i was near the north quadrangle, I SLIPPED!!! i didn't know how it happened but i did slipped. it was so embarrassing because most of the people that saw me slipped were boys. i was so ashamed :( i got up immediately and limped my way to gdlsc. to my surprise, i saw my classmate, jowell and raul sitting in the chairs, eating. jowell told me that he saw me slipped but thankfully he didn't tease me that much.
i was so embarrassed with what happened to me. i went up to the laboratory when jowell told me to. when i got there, i told my friends about what happened to me. dana helped me with cleaning my wounds. she cleaned my wound first with water and then put on alcohol. i was in pain because it involved my knees. good thing, all the classes at centro escolar university was declared half-day. there was an announcement that the dean would like to have a meeting with the president, vice president and secretary of each class. i decided not to go because it pains me to go up and down the stairs. up until now my right knee still hurts when i'm going up or going down the stairs.
anyways, that's just one of my embarrassing moments :)

wasted effort...

today, february 20, 2008, we were scheduled to have our grand return demonstration starting with the first batch at 7:30 am. i arrived at school at about 9am and i found some of my classmates reviewing so i joined them. then, one of our classmate told us that the start of the grand retdem for our section is at 1pm. we were shocked by the sudden news because there was a different schedule given to us the day before the grand retdem. batch 5 was scheduled at 1pm and i belong to the fifth batch. i really can't accept it because i studied the procedures and i even slept while studying though i really don't want to fall asleep. i really felt bad about it.
anyways, i decided to study in the library because it is quiet place where you really want to concentrate on what you're studying. so i asked my friend if she wanted to go and good thing she did. we made our way to the library and good thing there wasn't many people yet during that time. we had a peaceful time at the library and we were able to concentrate on what we're studying. there were numerous nursing students in the library particularly the juniors because they also have their grand retdem. anyways, it was really cold inside the library and i was really shivering. the hair on my arms were standing.
at 11am, we decided that it was time for us to eat our lunch. we went to the canteen to eat lunch. we saw some of our former classmates and chatted with them for a while. we then bought food to eat. i really enjoyed the tocilog and it's my favorite. i didn't quite enjoy the rice. after we at our lunch, we stayed for a while at the canteen to just take a rest. afterwards, we went to gdlsc where all our classmates are staying. we joined in on them for a chat. the atmosphere on the place was really tensed. everybody was nervous about the grand retdem as well as myself. who wouldn't be nervous? we just stayed there waiting for our turn to come. some weren't studying and just relaxing but deep inside they were nervous.
then, we were told to go home especially the batch 4-6 because they wouldn't be able to accommodate us all. we were happy but then we felt like we wasted our effort for going to school that day. we made sure that the decision was final. we asked our P.R.O to text us if there are necessary changes with the schedule. after being sure, we decided to go home. me, mai and jecca decided to ride a jeepney going to pureza station. inside the train, we were having a good time talking with each other. for the next part, i am going to write in tagalog.
e di yun na nga, nakasakay na kami sa tren. then, sa tapat namin may tatlong magkakaibigan; dalawang lalaki, isang babae. ang ingay nila pero okay lang naman yun kasi normal lang naman talaga na maingay ang tao eh. ang nakakainis lang, yung babae nilang kasama. nung una hindi pa namin siya pinapansin pero nung mga sumunod na oras lumala siya. sobrang ingay pa niya tapos akala mo kung sinong maganda. pinangangalandakan pa niya na naka mini skirt siya, bukaka pa siya ng bukaka kala mo naman maganda yung legs niya. ang arte niya talaga, sobra! kaming tatlo nga hindi na natutuwa sa kanya eh. ang feeling niya kasi tas ang gulu-gulo pa niya. masyado siyang pa-cute at nagmamaganda. picture pa siya ng picture tas pupuriin niya yung sarili niya kasi DAW ang ganda niya.
kami naman ni maila inis na inis na. si jecca hindi lang nagsasalita pero inis na din siya. pero masaya naman kami kasi may gwapo kaming kasabay sa lrt. sayang nga at mali yung napwestuhan namin eh. kung sakali dun kami umupo sa pwesto nila e di kaharap pa namin sila. dalawa sila actually pero mas gwapo yung chinito. ang ginawa naman nung girl, dun siya pumwesto sa may pole tas nagpicture-picture siya. after niya magpicture, tuwang-tuwa siya kasi sinadya niyang isama sa picture yung gwapong guy. nung bumaba yung friend nung gwapong guy sa katipunan, ang ginawa nung babae nilait ba naman yung friend. and! take note, tumingin sa kanya yung gwapong guy kasi parang nainis din siya dun sa girl dahil dun sa panlalait nung girl sa kanyang friend.
nung malapit na sa lrt station, yung girl nauna na sa may pintuan ng train tas parang pinapaalam pa niya sa lahat na gusto niya sa elevator. sorry siya, sira yung elevator matagal na panahon na. buti na lang yung gwapong guy hindi dumaan dun sa dinaan ng girl dahil sa inis niya. doon siya bumaba sa pinakadulo kung saan lagi kaming bumababa. nung nasa escalator na kami, tingin siya ng tingin samin. tas sabi ni jecca tumtitingin nga..hehe..^^ after non, naghintay na kami ng jeep na masasakyan pauwi e umuulan pa non, buti na lang may dala kaming payong. nakita ko yung gwapong guy sa may waiting shed kasi wala siyang payong pero after few minutes nakita ko siya nasa likod na namin siya. dun siya sa jeep na patungong montalban sumakay. e yung girl sa montalban din sumakay pero don sa ibang jeep.
today, is really a wasted effort. we weren't able to proceed with our grand retdem because team b has such slow system. they can't follow the schedule they have given to us. i have to go study again. but, i think it has an advantage because we could still master the things we have to do in our grand retdem. that's all..

grand return demonstration hands-on and orientation

yesterday, february 13, 2008 we had our grand retdem hands-on and orientation. first, our group had the hands-on at gdlsc nal 2 with the other sections from team a and team b. it was a one-hour session in which we reviewed the steps in doing the procedures that we're going to perform during the grand retdem. i just only realized that the procedures i performed during the 1st semester was easy the only problem is that there are lots of steps to be followed but, thinking about it, its just really easy.
after the hands-on, we had our break. we ate our lunch and afterwards, proceeded to gdlsc nal 3 for the orientation. there, we also joined some of the sections from team a and team b. we were oriented about our upcoming oral revalida for our community immersion requirements. then, we were also oriented about what will happen during the grand return demonstration. one of our clinical instructor taught us a song that made us wake up because some of the students were already sleepy. also, one of our clinical instructor was typing in the laptop and we can see what he was typing in the white screen. he was typing what our community coordinator was saying which made all of us laugh. the highlight of that orientation was the most good-looking clinical instructor. he was really handsome, tall and when he smile, he can melt you..hehe..^^ anyways, almost all the girls were staring at him for he is very enchanting. they also demonstrated the correct way of doing the physical assessment for our benefit.
what is grand return demonstration anyway? it is where all level 2 students of the college of nursing have to perform the procedures they have done during the 1st semester with all the retdem they have done. it will also determine if we would be promoted to level 3. i'm really nervous about it because i don't know if i'll remember all the steps but i know i can do it.. hehe..^^
